Laceweights

Emrys Lace

Emrys Lace is a very springy and glossy Blue Faced Leicester laceweight. BFL is a British longwool, with a rich lustre that yields very bright and rich colours. It’s soft, hard-wearing, springy and yet able to be worn next-to-skin. Each 100 gram skein of Emrys Lace is approximately 800 metres of yarn. It’s not superwash treated, so it needs a hand-wash with gentle detergent in tepid to warm water in order to prevent felting and to keep the colours looking their best.

Hretha Lace

Hretha Lace is a lustrous blend of 50% Bluefaced Leicester and 50% silk. Each 100 gram skein of Hretha Lace is approximately 800 metres of yarn. I recommend a hand-wash with gentle detergent in tepid to warm water in order to keep the colours looking their best.

Gwen Lace

A superb 70% superfine kid mohair and 30% silk laceweight, Gwen Lace is beautifully soft, with rich, bright colours with great depth. Delicate, gauzy, and yet surprisingly strong. Each 50 gram skein is approximately 420 metres of yarn. Depending on your pattern, you can bump your needle size up to 5mm or 6mm, and it’ll do a medium sized lace shawl with ease.

Gofannon Lace

Gofannon Lace is a 100% baby alpaca laceweight. Each 100 gram skein is approximately 800 metres of yarn, and is from Peruvian sources. This yarn base has a particularly soft and squishy handle, but is very drapey. Gofannon Lace is a very cosy and snuggly yarn, and is a real treat both to knit with and to wear.
