Traditional Soap

Triskelion Studio’s handmade Clay Hand Soap is a traditional soap made from luxurious skin-loving oils, butters and clays, and is suitable for all skin types. In addition to the soap staples of coconut and olive oils, our hand soap has avocado and castor oils to add richness and emollience to the lather, hempseed oil for its skin health benefits, and shea butter to give richness and hardness to the bar. A variety of clays are added for a gentle cleaning boost and a luxurious silkiness.

Hempseed oil is high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, linoleic and gamma-linoleic fatty acids, and vitamins B6 and E. It’s also non-comedogenic, which means it won’t block pores. A perfect skin oil! We only use organic, unrefined hempseed oil in our products.

We use organic, unrefined shea butter to add moisturising and skin softening qualities, as well as to harden the bars. As with hempseed oil, shea butter is non-comedogenic. Our shea butter is extracted using traditional methods by a Ghanaian woman’s co-operative.

We add a little extra oil to the soap (a so-called ‘superfat’ quantity) to boost the natural emollient quality of the glycerine in the bar, giving you a luxurious, moisturising soap bar with generous skin-friendly fatty acids and vitamins.

We use naturally-occurring mineral colourants (iron oxides, ultramarines, etc.), and we have a range of fragrances from natural essential oils to natural/synthetic blends, and scent strengths from delicate to robust. Our ‘bare bones’ soap has no added colours or fragrance.
